Globalisation is one of the most important historical features that education is likely to experience in this century (Brunold, 2006). Developing the intercultural competence is important for successful communication all over the world, for this reason culture and language cannot be understood separately. Learning a foreign language fosters a whole series of cognitive and intercultural skills that enrich it as a person. It involves a number of variables in which we can find the motivation. Motivation determines the success or failure of any learning situation. Moreover, students' motivation tends to be greater in a cohesive class, hence, the importance of working through cooperative learning. The aim of this research is to design an intervention proposal to provide students in a CLIL environment with opportunities to practice second language through Education for Sustainable Development approach taking into account the four skills. To some extent, working from this approach allows students to develop their critical and creative thinking improving their motivation towards L2.
